When it comes to the Wild West, it doesn’t get more authentic than the Pawnee Bill Ranch and Museum. The Pawnee Bill Ranch was once the showplace of the world-renowned Wild West Show entertainer Gordon W. “Pawnee Bill” Lillie, and today the famous entertainer’s 14-room mansion welcomes visitors to explore Wild West Show and Pawnee Bill memorabilia and photos. A herd of buffalo roam the grounds to complete the authentic Western experience. If you time your visit right and you can attend the Pawnee Bill Wild West Show featuring talented trick riders, ropers and marksmen performing awe-inspiring feats. 

In downtown Pawnee, you’ll find native stone buildings that house unique shops and eateries like the very popular Click’s Steakhouse. Stop by for perfectly prepared steaks and a slice of their famous meringue pie. The whole family will love a summer getaway that includes a visit to the historic Pawnee Bathhouse & Recreation Area that features a two-acre freshwater pool with sandy swimming beaches, water slide and high dive. And stop by the Pawnee County Historical Society Museum to get a glimpse into the life of Chester Gould, the Pawnee native who created the beloved Dick Tracy comics.
