Owasso
As the largest city located wholly within the Cherokee Nation, Owasso is a vibrant hub that blends cultural pride with community spirit. At the heart of town, the Redbud District offers shopping, dining and entertainment, while the Owasso Historical Museum shares stories of the city’s growth from a small settlement at the end of the railroad to a thriving community. In fact, the city’s name is a Native American term for “the end,” describing the city’s location on the rail line before it extended to Tulsa in 1905. Visitors can also experience the creative side of Cherokee culture at the Cherokee Film Studio, a state-of-the-art facility supporting Native storytelling.
Family traditions come alive at the Owasso Christmas Tree & Berry Farm, where seasonal harvests and holiday fun make lasting memories. Food lovers will find plenty to enjoy with local favorites like the original Andolini’s Pizzeria, along with Mad Eats and SMOKE. Woodfire Grill. The city also shines throughout the year with signature events including the Redbud Rumble, Lights On Owasso and the Owasso Christmas Parade.
